L-theanine, caffeine, nicotine, and certain antidepressants like wellbutrin are substances that will suppress appetite without damaging your body too much. L-theanine and caffeine might even increase your overall health. There's a lot of other nootropics that will suppress appetite but I'd avoid taking them since there isn't much research to backup their supposed benefits.

Most importantly, though, is having a proper eating schedule and a good relationship with food. You have to treat food like fuel. You have to eat whole, organic foods as well. The less processed, the better.

Make sure you don't have a vitamin deficiency as that's one of the most common and undiagnosed causes of over/undereating. I use cronometer to measure all of my micronutrients and I strive to hit all my goals from food alone. But, just in case, I also take a multivitamin, magnesium, iron, a shit ton of Vitamin D, and omega-3 everyday.

I take probiotics too and highly recommend it to anyone as it helps with more than just digestive health. New research is constantly being published showing that gut flora might actually be the key to optimal health. Even your serotonin and dopamine production is affected by it.

Also eating fiber like retard said and high-fat high-protein low-carb diets will lower your appetite.

You should also focus on increasing BMR instead of just suppressing your appetite and starving yourself. Your goal should be lowering bf% not just weight.

Light to moderate cardio and strength training is the best way to both lower appetite and boost basal metabolic rate. Avoid high-intensity cardio because it can shut down your body's ability to burn calories if your dieting. And it mostly uses glucose for energy instead of your bodies fat reserves as opposed to walking or lifting:

Only do high-intensity cardio if your bulking and eating at least 3000 calories a day.

Just a little bit o crystal meth'll do ya right.
