How to stop randomly lying?

I picked up this habit a while ago. I keep accidentally saying lies.

Like today I was talking at work about cars with my friend and I said my dad has a tesla he doesn't have one. I don't even realize I am lying then I just have to go with it.

I should stop man its not like I get any benefits from lying I just say random things without thinking and then I just go with it
