but yeah, just hop on mt2 asap and use sunscreen on the body parts that are already tanned, otherwise you will look blotchy

yes, you do.
but in case you have uneven skin tone/uneven sun exposure (you said only the back of your head gets burned), you can only use sunscreen on these body parts to even it out.
but in general: always use sunscreen. and mt2 is the most important thing anyway.
