Why use minoxidil for your lashes?
Minoxidil is a medicine that can help hair grow by changing the hair growth cycle. It seems to help hair follicles stay in the growth stage (anagen) for longer. It can also help small, weak hair follicles become larger, which can make the hairs they produce thicker.

Minoxidil is also converted in the skin into a chemical called minoxidil sulfate, which is the more active form of the drug. Scientists think it affects potassium channels and other signals around the hair follicle that help encourage hair growth. The exact way it works is still not completely understood.

In theory, the same basic idea could apply to eyelashes. Eyelashes are also produced by hair follicles and go through different stages of growth. If minoxidil affected eyelash follicles in a similar way, it could potentially keep the lashes in their growth stage for longer. This could allow individual eyelashes to grow longer and possibly thicker before they naturally stop growing and fall out.

It would not create new eyelash follicles, though. Instead, it would be changing how the existing follicles behave. Eyelashes also have a much shorter growth phase than scalp hair, so the effect would not necessarily be the same as it is on the scalp.

Supplies needed:
Topical minoxidil solution:

Lash applicator bottle with brush tip:

Using an applicator with a tip like this is easiest because it doesn't hold on to a lot of excess liquid which can drip into your eyes.

You can also use an applicator like this:
1789320226103

Although the tip absorbs much more liquid and it is much easier to get in your eyes.

How to apply it safely:

First you want to dry off any excess liquid on the tip (I like to apply it to my eyebrows and kill two birds with one stone)
you want the tip to be slightly damp to where if you were to touch it against your skin it would leave a damp spot but not enough for the excess liquid to bead up.

For the top lashes apply it where marked:

Make sure to apply as thin of a layer as possible or else it will get in your eyes, if you feel burning rinse them out immediately

Then do the same for the bottom lashes:

Do this twice a day: morning and night and you should see great results:soy:

Nice I also think this is much better than Latisse if you’re careful about it. But for the bottom lashes, wouldn’t it be better to apply just a little lower? Now it’s on the water line in your picture. I think if you apply it basically right underneath the bottom lashes instead of on top it would be safer and work just as well. Just like how with the top lashes you apply it on the side away from the eyes, for the bottom lashes you’d just do the reverse. Only thing is you’d have to brush your bottom lashes upward beforehand so you can reach there more easily.
