How to waterfast if it's your first time

I wanna waterfast and lose a couple pounds problem is I wanna priotize not losing muscle or gaining the weight back after I've finished. How do I succesfully waterfast as a beginner and prevent the weight from coming back?

Keep the fasting period short, ideally 2-3 days, and you can do very light intensity if you're exercising. Break the fast with high nutrient foods gently. Mark as solution now

You're gonna gain water weight afterwards i think, from the carbs not fat

how long after should i wait before i waterfast again? also how many days is too much or like unhealthy?
