i Have a horrible lips to nose ratio because my lips are just so small (but full).

How can i widen them?

(thought about volufiline but i think that it only makes them thicker)

surgery for mouth width doesn't have good results, it's a feminine characteristic though and you can balance it out by making the rest of your face more masculine.

Wide mouth is feminine? I thought its good to have wider mouth with more teeth showing when you smile.

no, smaller mouths are feminine, they're ideal in women, which is also why you can't really call it a failo.

that's what I meant, the reason it looks off is because the rest of your face isn't masculine enough, the ratio could be responsible though but in that case it's easier to make your nose smaller than your mouth wider, but be careful because in men the mouth is almost never much wider than the chin is, if you have a narrow pointy chin you're better off with a smaller mouth.

Thanks for the detailed response. I did read some threads that MOST good looking men have wide mouths with at least 8 teeth showing smile, like it's mandatory to look good. Also 6 teeth smile legit doesnt look good even on women imo.

how many teeth show depends on your palate, not on your lips, they're quite stretchy.

if they're balanced right with the rest of your face you can get away with it, fullness and symmetry is more important than width because it signals youth/genetic quality.

my mouth is wider than my chin.
I've got an asian pointy chin but my mouth is 1.9 times wider than my alar.

mix people get this sometimes because their features didn't co-evolve.

both large mouths and small mouths can look off, no one really gets halo'd by the width, it's mostly just a matter of balance.

look at it this way, if feminine features were always negative in men, and masculine characteristics were negative in women that would mean we'd be bogging each other our entire evolutionary history, it makes no sense, both can have either as long as it's proportional.

This is a good example.
It also shows lip width to bigonial. How do these guys pull off a narrow lip width to jaw width?

I think if Johnny Depp gets remotely fat, he is screwed:
1724281734240
1724281786060

Young, already looks narrow, and he is not fat

1724281779205

Young, he's saved by his definition and hollows IMO

1724282100810

Older, with thinner and wider lips, but still not wide enough..

Lachowski's lips are wide enough IMO, and he's saved by his lower lip eversion:

I think the main answer is that a small lip to bigonial ratio will only work, if the lip corners are not downturned but upturned? Because then it's not a sign of bad craniofacial development/ recession, so subconsciously we allow it?

Or maybe it's to do with downturned lips are an aggressive trait, and when paired with a narrow lip width.. they give an angry feminising effect, rather than an angry masculine effect. So our brains condition us to not respond well to the former, as it's contrasting?

im not so sure, but i think a palate expander can make your lips wider, im gonna be getting one soon for my narrow palate, but im not so sure anyways, i guess ill have to wait and see

Hey @Orc Can you check out what I posted last week here:
the depth of your hollows is related to the width of your palate so they aren't mutually exclusive, the wider your palate is in relationship to your jaw width the shittier your hollows are going to be.

I get this bro
But somebody who would benefit from a wider bigonial/ making their gonions more angular through implants but cannot as then it would look uncanny due to extremely narrow width lips compared to jaw...

It's the entire reason Salludon ascended:
1725431358360

He had sufficient lip width before starting. A good base to improve with (alongside other features like downturned medial canthus)

Also why this actor
1725431580005
1725431597349
1725431617939

Could use his jaw implants to create hollows.

The thing about a wider lip width is that you have more room to play with. You have a higher looksmax ceiling, with surgery. Allowing you to push for this:
1725431808299

And I feel like you are prioritsing hollows over lip width... the existence of: hollows + wide lips (without any surgery) would be better than slightly better hollows + narrow lips (without any surgery)

it's a lot easier and cheaper to alter the lips than it is to get gonial implants to not look awful, and also the mouth would be affected if you had them because the skin would be stretched.

he has shitty lips, he'd look much better with a properly formed upper lip than width will ever do for him.

you can't just dump implants on your skull to create hollows, it affects your fwhr.

push for what, someone with an upper lip deformity? his shit looks worse than a friend I got that was born with a cleft palate.

I do not see the 'ceiling' argument, implants are far more invasive than lip altercation.
And I feel like you are prioritsing hollows over lip width... the existence of: hollows + wide lips (without any surgery) would be better than slightly better hollows + narrow lips (without any surgery)
wrong, the only people who care about how the mouths of men look are other men, women do not care at all.

Lips2

for reference, thin lips automatically make your mouth look smaller.

and even in the context of other men it's mostly about fullness, it's quite possibly the most common 'bad' feature among male models.
