In this thread i'll be getting into how marine collagen can be benefitial to skin.
Yesterday saw some videos about a guy saying how gelatin improved skin due to the fact its made by collagen, found out it was a whole lotta bulshit but searching about it found out about some good studies on how marine collagen can be actually benefitial for general wound healing (including acne marks).
Although most of the studies i used on this thread have been conducted in animals and with topical or biomaterial-based applications, it helps explain why marine collagen has attracted significant interest in skin health. Also the studies talk about other topics but i'll be focusing only in the parts that can help with acne marks and inflamation on skin, that was the main topic i was studying on.
Basically, this suggests that the skin will recover more efficiently from:
Superficial injuries.
Irritation.
Dermatological procedures.
Acne related inflammation (what interests us)
So, as a consequence of recovering faster, the amount of inflamed skin (redness) that remains after acne gets away, is js way lower.
Improved oxygen delivery.
Better nutrient transport.
Now looking at what this could probably cause, if your skin has the perfect enviroment for recovering, it means that the recovery will happen faster and way more efficiently than the way it is happening right now.
Reduced irregular scar formation.
Higher quality regenerated tissue.
A more uniform skin appearance.
Meaning your acne marks won't be looking like holes anymore and will look like the same as the rest of your skin.
Once inflammation subsides, the skin must:
Generate new tissue.
Remodel collagen.
Normalize pigmentation.
Marine collagen appears to support several mechanisms that can enhance these 3 aspects by so fucking much, so basically it WILL make your skin look better.
This was my first thread and it took me some time to write it, also because english isn't my first language so. ty ngas

1. Accelerated Re-Epithelialization
Re-epithelialization is the process by which new skin forms over an injured area. The studies observed better re-epithelialization with marine collagen treatment.Basically, this suggests that the skin will recover more efficiently from:
Superficial injuries.
Irritation.
Dermatological procedures.
Acne related inflammation (what interests us)
So, as a consequence of recovering faster, the amount of inflamed skin (redness) that remains after acne gets away, is js way lower.
2. Enhanced Angiogenesis
Another point i found out about that can be benetifial was increased angiogenesis, the formation of new blood vessels. Greater vascularization means:Improved oxygen delivery.
Better nutrient transport.
Now looking at what this could probably cause, if your skin has the perfect enviroment for recovering, it means that the recovery will happen faster and way more efficiently than the way it is happening right now.
3. More Organized Tissue Remodeling
The studies reported that treated wounds developed a more mature and organized tissue architecture. When tissue heals in an organized manner, there is potential for:Reduced irregular scar formation.
Higher quality regenerated tissue.
A more uniform skin appearance.
Meaning your acne marks won't be looking like holes anymore and will look like the same as the rest of your skin.
4. So, How Could This Affect Acne Marks?
Acne marks are a consequence of inflammation.Once inflammation subsides, the skin must:
Generate new tissue.
Remodel collagen.
Normalize pigmentation.
Marine collagen appears to support several mechanisms that can enhance these 3 aspects by so fucking much, so basically it WILL make your skin look better.
