Dying surrounded by your family is an old meme, now people mostly abandon their old folks in asylums, they don't keep them at home anymore to take care of them.
Even if some would still live with their family and when the time comes the others will be around, they will probably be more busy watching their smartphones, than with the actual person who's dying in front of them.

Because they are mostly poor and live in the same houses for many generations, so they can't afford to send the old ones to an asylum. Those who moved to western countries to work, won't probably see their parents dying. Their kids will also be mostly westernized, they will likely move to other cities, have their own houses, they won't be around their elders anymore.

This isn't really true. Intergenerational households occur in pretty much all social classes. I'm not gonna bother explaining thoroughly though. Are you white?

Yes, I'm Romanian, we are white people. Once, we all lived together in the same houses for many generations, now this is getting rarer and rarer. In the past two decades, millions have left to work in western Europe and their old folks are now pretty much lonely, abandoned, the number of asylums has increased significantly, in the past there very few.
