How would i go about asking for a palate expander?

Ive just got braces like a week and a half ago. I have another appointment in a few months and would like to get a palate expander since my teeth are pretty crooked and kinda caved in. I obviously want it to increase my looks too but i think the dentist will tell me im fine and brush it off. Any way to make sure i get it?

If your country has free orthodontic treatment they will not give it to you unless you really need it. Theyd rather do extractions than to expand palatte. But if you can pay, then nothing is impossible.

Bite into half an apple and measure the distance in between your molars, or ask your orthodontist.
