How would you raise a child if you had one?

In this mystical hypothetical scenario that only a select few will ever be lucky enough to experience, how would you try to raise a child? The question is somewhat complex so I'll try to break it down into something a little simpler if you can't think of a good answer right away.

Would you be prefer to be a strict or relaxed parent? How would you act if your child did something wrong/harmful to others and how would you discipline them if the time came to pass. What preventative measures would you take to ensure your child doesn't go through a path of degeneracy and how would you try to be there for your child whenever they're going through a tough time? Would you ever try to get close to your child in a "friend-like" manner or would you prefer to be an authoratative figure.

There's no wrong answer here, it's just something I've been wondering

It's a lot of hardwork being a parent! I think some people should be grateful to have one but I understand not everybody has the luxury of a loving family.

hopefully i have a son who i can tell him my own views on society without indoctrinating him

definitely strict. my upbringing was not strict and i have regrets now. if i know more than my kid why should i listen to him on what he thinks is good for him/what he wants

yeah i honestly think that it's too nice and you tend to have the kid start to get too comfortable disrespecting you then it's really awkward to fix that without fucking up the bond you have with your child
