A steroid is a compound with 4 rings of carbon atoms.
Hormones are generally divided into peptides and steroids. Steroids are cholesterol-derived. Testosterone (and estrogen) are both synthesised from cholesterol (through pregnenolone).

A: "Are you on steroids"
B: "No, I'm on HRT"

B is wrong, I understand why they say it due to the social stigma associated with steroids. However, the correct answer would be
B: "Yes, but only HRT".

There should be more public understanding of what words like "steroid" and "HRT" mean.

This is just a semantic point that annoys me a bit
