Average US height is distorted by Mexicans. Average White American is probably 5'10-5'10.5. So 5'9 is marginally shorter than average. Then consider that you're close enough to the height of women where a 1.5" inch difference is much more apparent, than say 6'3 - 6'4.5.

Yeah that's bs. I'm 5'9.5 and I've unironically been called tall on numerous occasions by girls, like at least 15 times total and I wear normie shoes (converse). The reason girls think 5'9 is short is because manlets always larp as 5'9 to look normal, but if they see an actual 5'9 no one would think they're short. I have yet to be called short by anyone ever.

Nah, I'm pretty good at eyeballing heights and I'm exposed to short people every day. When someone frauds, it's painfully obvious. Usually it's a 5'7ish guy saying he's 5'10, or a 5'10 claiming 6'. None of my friends are short, all are around my height. Ranging from 5'11-6'11, with the exception of the squad manlet who's 5'9

Most people are 95% done growing at my age and I'm in a pretty wealthy white neighborhood. I am aware that 5'9.5 is absolutely not tall, it's literally the most average you can get here, but girls are short and bad at telling height so it isn't that surprising. But it's possible that girls who like you might say that you're tall considering I'm relatively above average in PSL

I'm 6' and I'm never described as tall. Good looking, plenty of times, but not tall. Only my shorter family members ever describe me as tall. I'm white and live in a very white area. When you look at the averages of whites, Americans are almost as tall as Europeans (excluding the really tall countries like the Netherlands), that figure hovers somewhere around 5;10". Someone who says they're described as tall at 5'9" sounds like they're trying to deflect from the fact they're not tall. Even among ethnic guys at my high school, many were 5'10"-6'. 6'2" not uncommon at all among millennial guys and younger.

I completely agree with that, but to say that women often call 5'9" tall anywhere in the Western world is a stretch. Yes they are deflecting. 5'9" is objectively not tall in an area where that is the average and where many don't consider 6' super tall. The fact that you're pointing out that a great face can cancel that out (which I'm not arguing against) illustrates it.
