Humans are the only apes with a mostly hairless body. This is a strange trait in mammals as it is great for insulation, you only see other hairless mammals in warm regions such as the zebra and elephant in Africa. But not in Europe or colder climates as we would die without shelter and clothing. Anyway, the pattern of hair that humans have is strange.

Not only is it dimorphic (unlike other apes) but the patterns are seemingly random. For natural selection to have chosen this pattern there must have been some reason. That reason is swimming. The pattern of hair we have is ideal for minimizing drag. Our beautiful hair flowing backward acts like a spoiler on a car. When we stop swimming our scalp gets sad and begins shedding our hair. That is the cure to hair loss, swimming.

interesting theory, but if this even has some basis to it, it takes hundreds of years to see changes epigenetically

Good theory ngl

Epigenetics is the newest cope to the idea that DNA is not mutable to the environment. Your enzymes are said to "repair" your dna strand to "damage". These words are highly suggestive, rather it is your enzymes changing your dna due to information from photons. That is why X-rays mess you up because the enzymes get confused.
