Forget environmental factors. The environment only matters insofar as it impacts the natural selection process that decides which genes are inherited by future generations. Every society and its culture is determined by the biological makeup of its inhabitants.

History is just one long string of biological mutations and evolutions, with nations and empires raising or falling in accordance with how shit or not shit their gene pool was at that moment in time.

And this is also true at the individual level as well. Your personality, looks, how others respond to your appearance, your intelligence, your job, how you do at school, how many friends you have...all set in stone.

In a way, so-called ´history' is fake, because it couldn't ever have turned out differently.
