Facial symmetry refers to how closely the left and right sides of a face match. Research suggests that people often find symmetrical faces more attractive or less intimidating. If you're interested in exploring this concept mathematically or through data analysis, here’s a structured way to look at it

  • Facial features can be quantified using landmarks (points on the face) such as the corners of the eyes, mouth, and tip of the nose.

1. Facial Structure:

  • Jawline: A strong, angular jawline can be associated with dominance and aggression, which may lead to a more intimidating presence.
  • Forehead: A prominent forehead or a deep brow ridge can amplify seriousness or intensity.

2. Eye Features:

  • Eye Size and Shape: Larger eyes can be perceived as more friendly or approachable, whereas smaller, narrowed eyes might convey anger or suspicion.
  • Eyebrow Position: Low, angular eyebrows can create a frown or a furrowed brow, which is often interpreted as a sign of hostility or aggression.
  • 3. Mouth Features:

    • Lip Shape: Thin lips are sometimes associated with severity, while fuller lips may appear more inviting.
    • Smile: A lack of a smile, or a smirk, can be interpreted as threatening, while an open smile tends to convey warmth.
  • 4. Facial Expressions:

    • Tension in Features: Tightly pressed lips, narrowed eyes, or a furrowed brow can signal anger, leading to perceptions of intimidation.
    • Aggressive Expressions: A grimace or a snarl, even if unintentional, can evoke feelings of intimidation.
example with ratios

  1. Inter-Pupillary Distance (IPD):
    • The distance between the centers of the pupils.
    • Ideal Ratio: This is typically about 10% of the width of the face. For example, if the skull width is 15 cm, the IPD should be approximately 1.5 cm.
  2. Facial Width to Height Ratio:
    • You can measure the width of the face from the zygomatic arches (cheekbones) to determine its width and then measure the height from the forehead to the chin.
    • Ideal Ratio: A common ratio for a strong face is about 1.5:1 (width:height). For example, if the height of the face is 20 cm, then the width should be about 30 cm.
  3. Zygomatic Depth:
    • Measured from the front of the cheek to the back.
    • Ideal Measurement: Typically, the zygomatic depth should be proportional to the overall facial width. A deeper zygomatic bone can give an impression of strength. There isn't a strict ratio, but a depth that is around 80-90% of the total width can be appealing.
  4. Jaw Width:
    • Measured by the distance between the angle of the jaw on either side.
    • Ideal Ratio: A strong jawline is often wider than the zygomatic width. A ratio of about 1.1-1.2 (jaw width to zygomatic width) can give a more dominant appearance.
  5. Chin Projection:
    • The extent that the chin protrudes from the face.
    • Ideal Measurement: The ideal chin should extend about 10-15% beyond the lips when in profile view for a balanced appearance.
  6. Nose Width:
    • The width at the nasal ala.
    • Ideal Ratio: Should be approximately 10-12% of the total facial width.

Example of Hypothetical Measurements:

Let's map these ratios onto some hypothetical measurements for clarity:

  • Total Skull Width: 15 cm
    • IPD: 1.5 cm (10% of width)
  • Facial Height: 20 cm
    • Facial Width: 30 cm (1.5:1 ratio)
  • Zygomatic Depth: 12 cm (80% of the skull width)
  • Jaw Width: 12-13 cm (1.1-1.2 ratio relative to zygomatic width)
  • Chin Projection: 2.5-3 cm from the upper lip
  • Nose Width: 1.5-2 cm (10-12% of total width)
COLORING : black brows,dark eyes ..

as you can see the darker ones look more intimidating since its a void color drained from emotions UNLIKE blue eyes or any other type

facial example

1743836901625

blue eyes dark hair mix, this face over all looks appealing, now lets try with a darker coloring using the ratios i wrote before

Domface

now the neck.

Effects of Neck Size on Perception

  1. Perception of Strength: A larger neck can sometimes be perceived as a sign of physical strength or fitness, which can play a role in intimidation factor.
  2. Body Proportions: Symmetrical and proportionate body measurements are often perceived as more attractive and can influence how others view a person’s confidence and authority.

Ideal Ratios

While there isn't a scientifically proven "ideal" neck ratio for intimidation, some studies suggest that a larger neck in proportion to the body can enhance perceptions of dominance.

  1. Body Proportions - Commonly referenced ratios often considered for fitness and perception:
    • Neck circumference : Wrist circumference (some fitness models suggest around 1.5x)
    • Neck circumference : Head circumference (around 0.8x could be favorable).
ideal muscule mass in the neck should be 2 or 3.

example:

1743838786089

his neck is matches with his jaw muscules and over all zygos too which makes his head look "smaller" .
now weak example of a small neck:

1743838885489

so, in short words if you want to be """intimidating""" you would need as the ratios show, big zygo showing which imposes strenght since it makes your face look bigger.
narrow eyes since they look angry and hateful
strong brows
and small lips since its a sing of masculinity.

I feel like eyes/brows , wide mouth, and neck contribute most to intimidation
Not including frame & height

should i?
I have wide mouth, vertically narrow eyes, eyebrows

But neck made me so much more dimorphic
I’d say it’s the equivalent of adding 3lb of pure muscle on each delt

Especially if someone has big zygos like you mentioned it’ll balance the face better

forgot to add, go clean shaved and hair should be put in a slick back style so ur forehead shows and makes your face longer/taller

Ok so this is actually what intimidates people

Dark Eyes, not t50 but rather dark blue or green
Narrow Eyes, no upper eyelid exposure,
Wide IPD, narrows around the eyes of someone you gaze
Wide mouth
Wider nose than average, not like a african nose but somewhat wider nose gives an aggresive look
Dark hair
Dark, thick dense eyebrows but not too symmetrical
overall not a symmetrical face
large chin
outward gonions
Shorter Midface ratio
high fwhr

i got a pretty tall skull, but this is just cope, we know that wider faces are seen as more agressive

but cameron is the only one with a tall skull here ehren and craig have wide skulls, if these are tall skulls what the fuck are wide skulls for u then?
look at ehren without out his hair in the way
