At this point living standards were up, most people had decent incomes and careers, the dating market was actually pretty good - only 8% of men over 28 or something were virgins, the political system was stable in that elections were not these apocalyptic showdowns, technology was there but in not such a way that it had taken over our lives.

Then came the 2010s and now the 2020s. Social media dominates our life, a large part of our social lives is relegated to a screen, an increasingly small proportion of men fuck all the women, large swaths of the population face crippingly mental health disorders, the country hates itself more than ever..

Being born in ~1980 was optimal. Grow up in the 90s and experience young adulthood in the 2000s. From there, it is all downhill.

Why should I care? I’m bottom 1% in looks and bottom 5% in height. I’d be in the 8% for sure.

Humanits actual peak was post war period from the 50s to the 70s (maybe late 70s) that was the best time to start a family, make money and buy a house
