If we had a planned economy providing everybody with guaranteed sexual fullfilment via government run brothels, basic housing, a reasonably healthy diet (aka not mass produced garbage loaded with chemicals), and maybe some very limited marketplace for people to trade art, goods etc, then 90% of humans would be 1000x happier than they are currently.

Exactly. Literally all humans need to survive is real food, shelter and to live in a family/tribe.

If there was a way you could magically measure a person's happiness a person from an untouched tribe in the Amazon would be 10x happier than literally anyone who lives in soyciety.

Youre definitely right that would be way better than what we have now but people would still be trying to gain more material wealth than each other, to feel more high status, powerful, to attract women, etc. I dont think it really makes them happy but there is just something about having that material wealth and non material status and power that people will always desire
