The problem with this take is they are not considered a genetic group. You do have the Early Slavs, but that’s because they spoke Proto-Slavic, it’s not because they were genetically this or that. It’s the same in South Asia, where you have the Indo-Aryans and Dravidians. Dravidians usually live in Southern India, but you have the Brahui in Pakistan’s Balochistan region; they are considered Dravidian because they speak a Dravidian language, but genetically, they are closest and near inseparable from the Iranic Baloch, a Western Iranian ethnic group. Therefore groups like Brahuis and Hungarians are exceptions to the rule.
