It's three things:

1. The limited supply of thin young women
2. The fact that some guys can jump the line with status, money, just be first, etc
So if you're a random 5/10 guy with none of these advantages, you lose like a point.
3. Older guys crashing down into younger dating markets. If you're going after a 20 year old, you're competing against your own aged men and all the older chads. This further reduces your value.

These are the real obstacles for younger guys. You can't be a normie in these conditions and get a decent looking young thin girl.

if you have a good base you can spend your twenties grinding to get money + status to make yourself a more valuable male

and be one of those guys who peak later after building their empire especially if you’re good looking
