Hypocrisy regarding marriage partners. Why the inconsistency?

Let’s say a man sleeps around quite a bit, a few dozen partners, but when he wants to settle down, he refuses unless she is virgin.

Many will call this “hypocrisy”, but I call it strategy.

If a man is an alcoholic, and decides to cut off the drinks, but then meets a woman who is a former alcoholic, and decides he doesn’t want to date her, is that hypocritical? Most people wouldn’t say no. They would agree relapsed are likely and being careful is your choice.
