Religion and the actual pain that comes with trying to kill yourself are probably the main 2 deterrants for someone who truly has a shit life

Its a lot of cope, but hopefully in the future we will be able to extend our lifespan and biologically modify ourselves to look the way we want. The past will be irrelevant as you will be able to start an entirely new life. It will basically be a second chance

yeah I know, im not suicidal. its just i have had a friend of many years and they rely on me to vent about their life and the fact that they are suicidal, although I am not good at dealing with a situation like this, I dont really think they have anyone else to talk to it about, so I kind of need help with giving that person some reasoning as to why they shouldnt rope
