We've been together for about 4 months, and we're extremely in love. I think we said "I love you" like 4 weeks into the relationship. We see each other 5+ days a week, we have great sex, and neither of us enter into relationships lightly. I've had only one girlfriend before her, and she's only had two boyfriends before me, both of which were 2+ years. We've earnestly talked about marriage and having kids a few times. The conversation is always with the caveat, "of course we need to be together for way longer before we actually do anything," but we've more or less said that, right now, we want to marry each other. She's also asked me to live with her 3-5 days a week, once the school year starts and she moves into an apartment close to our school.
I've been worried about my thinning hair for a while. It's bad. I always need to wear product and hair fibers (powder you can throw into your hair to make it look thicker) to feel okay about my hair. If it gets wet, it looks really shitty. Even when it's not wet, it's pretty clear that my hair isn't good.
About a week ago, it came up that white people go bald more than Asian people (she's Asian, I'm white). I took this chance to bring it up and said "you should know if you stay with me, I'll probably go bald too." She seemed confused and concerned. She asked if my dad was bald, and asked if I was going bald. I said he is, and I said I think I am, since my hair is thinning. She looked at me and said "oh, yeah, it's thinner in front. That's okay, if you go bald you can get the surgery to fix it." I told her it costs $20,000 to $40,000 for the kind of surgery my kind of balding would need, which she agreed was too much money. She said I should go to China with her to get it, because it's cheaper there. I told her I shouldn't, because we had just talked earlier about how getting medical work done in China is riskier than in America. She agreed, and the conversation trailed off. Then she said, not particularly seriously, not looking at me, "I don't want you to be bald." I said "me neither," and nothing else was said after that.
Since then, absolutely nothing has changed. We've continued going out, talking about plans for the distant future, and having sex all the same. And she's said in the past that she likes me because I'm smart and nice, and she really likes my chest. Also, she seems to not care too much if I've got a pretty face, since I started breaking out this week, I told her I was sorry that it's happening and I'm going to the doctor to fix it, and she said she really doesn't care at all.
But I can't stop worrying that our relationship is going to end over my stupid fucking genetics.
I feel like I've given all the relevant information. Probably more. If anyone with an outside perspective has any input, it would be really appreciated. I cried about it a lot today.
tl;dr: how likely is it that my girlfriend is going to leave me because I'm going bald?
