she’s a family friend and in her 30s. i used to have this bad habit of calling women “auntie”

i didn’t mean to offend her at all but when i said “sorry auntie” she burst into tears, ran away and started asking everyone if she looked old

i felt so bad. people thought i was being a prick when i was just trying to be polite

i’ve learnt my lesson. never call a woman “auntie” again
