I acted like a god to the ants when I was a kid.

When I was about 10-12 , I developed a special interest in ants, their complex colonies and how they live. I enjoyed following the trace of them to their nest and then I always came up with creative methods to rule over them. If I recall correctly , I was both a benevolent god and a demon to them depending on how I felt.
On my “good side” , I gave them sugar , potato chips and other food. I also reinforced their nest with a dirt wall and if I found any materials that would be useful to them , I would break it into small pieces and place them near their nest. On my “bad side” , I came up with various creative ways to test the ants, I confined them in a dirt maze with a sugar reward and sometimes I abducted some of them and placed them in a steep cup of water to test their survival skills.

Dissecting the ants to see how long would they last without a head or a butt was a waste since I didn’t record the data. It was one of my biggest morally questionable acts.
