The relationship between caffeine and kidney stones is complex and not fully understood.

Studies suggesting a protective effect:
  • Some studies have shown that moderate caffeine intake (up to 3 cups per day) may reduce the risk of kidney stones.
  • This effect may be due to caffeine's ability to increase urine output and prevent the formation of concentrated urine, which can promote stone formation.
  • One study found that people who consumed the most caffeine had a 40% lower risk of kidney stones compared to those who consumed the least.
Studies suggesting a potential risk:
  • Other studies have suggested that excessive caffeine intake (over 5 cups per day) may increase the risk of kidney stones.
  • This is because caffeine can dehydrate the body, leading to increased calcium and oxalate levels in the urine, which can contribute to stone formation.
  • Additionally, caffeine can stimulate the release of hormones that promote the production of uric acid, another component of kidney stones.

If the rock is big enough does your penis explode

Kidney stones are caused by plant foods. In fact, most of them are calcium oxalate, which come from the oxalates in plants.
If you eat a species appropriate diet/don't eat plant products/byproduct(like caffeine) you cannot get kidney stones.

the downside to pissing water is having to piss 24/7
