I will need to extract 2 of my lower teeth in order to have a BSSO. My surgeon said my upper jaw is fine and lower jaw advancement is all I need.

So you would recommend that I don't get jaw surgery?Don't, i've done it, my jaw is not chadlite tier anymore
I don't think you'll need this removal to get BSSO.So you would recommend that I don't get jaw surgery?
I've seen one of the best maxillofacial surgeons in my area who teaches at universities and he recommended it to me.I don't think you'll need this removal to get BSSO.
Then if it's really needed you should ask for some implant to replace the lose or any method to reduce the impact of it.I've seen one of the best maxillofacial surgeons in my area who teaches at universities and he recommended it to me.
Dr Majid Jamali also recommend that I extract teeth.
I don't think I would find a maxillofacial surgeon who wouldn't recommend extractions. Unless you guys have some suggestions of surgeons I should see with a virtual consultation.
Thanks I will see if I can schedule virtual consultations with them. Then if it's really needed you should ask for some implant to replace the lose or any method to reduce the impact of it.
Try also to contact some european ones to have an idea - especially rafaelli if i recall well, defrank, zarrinbal, or the best ones Arnett.
Wouldn't bone augmention help? Then if it's really needed you should ask for some implant to replace the lose or any method to reduce the impact of it.

you mean bone graft ? Yes it's usually one of the three possibilities - not the easiest but the most natural one, since it's like osteotomies, you rely on the body to reproduce bone, or to paste it- with Dental implants and Dental bridges.Wouldn't bone augmention help?
I don't understand how an implant would work? After the BSSO wouldn't there be no more room to add an implant?you mean bone graft ? i Guess you do the extraction before bsso right? so during the extraction the doc can put you bone graft to reduce drastically the side effects of itI don't understand how an implant would work? After the BSSO wouldn't there be no more room to add an implant?
YeahDo you have to remove teeth to undergo bsso?

Nevers Heard of such a case but yeah it will take place unless your body rebuilt this part of your jaw naturally with the graft. But then wouldn't the graft get in the way of the bsso? Like the reason I need the extraction is to create space to move my lower teeth back before I have the surgery. Because right now there is no space to move my lower jaw forward.
I would get two extractions on my lower teeth then I would get braces to close the gap and push my lower teeth back. Once they gap is closed and my teeth are far back enough I will be ready for the BSSO.
