Ok, so I have been dating this girl since October, and a little over a month ago she asked if I wanted to have something more 'serious' and be 'exclusive' - I knew it was coming because she kept on dropping hints (in a very non-subtle way) which I had been ignoring.
Anyway, she asked me in a bar and I was probably 4 double gin and tonics deep and actually do have feelings for her, so I agreed.
What came next was not good...
Suddenly she was super moody all the time because I was not texting her enough. She would call me after I'd been working for 12-14 hours and then get mad if I 'didn't sound excited enough to meet up with her' and other dumb bullshit. Basically her expectations have gone through the roof.
She went on a trip to see her family for Christmas a couple of weeks ago, and during this time, I tried to break up with her over the phone.
I did it in a smooth way, and actually gaslit her into thinking that she had initiated the whole conversation (which she even admitted to, although it was 100% me)
We have agreed to 'talk about things' when I see her next, which is on New Year's Eve. I am planning to end the relationship. I have never been good at break ups, so I am not sure if I should get super drunk beforehand, or only have like 1-2 drinks so I am a bit less tense.
It should be an interesting evening. I will report back if anyone gives a shit.
