I used to follow instructions exactly when making cheap supermarket noodles. I would add in hot water and let it stand for exactly as long as it says on the package. Only then add the seasoning and then wait again the specified amount. Took me months to say to myself wtf am I doing and realize I can just throw in everything at once, help the noodle brick loosen with a fork and eat.
