you need to immerse yourself in american media. this is how people naturally acquire their first language, this would be called comprehensive input. the more you surround yourself with native speech patterns, pacing, and intonation, the more your brain starts adapting on its own without forcing it. let your subconscious do the work for you. probably also not speaking properly too, speaking through your nose. you’re supposed to speak through your diaphragm

Tbh i never thought people judge so much on accent . I have 0 problem speaking English. I have C1 level IELTS certificate in English and B2 in German goethe exam yet my ethnic accent is still causing problems

yeah it's a huge deal honestly. people will never think of you as their equal unless you actually sound native in their language (esp in popular 1st world languages like german, french, english etc.) . this basically only applies if youre from a poorer country coming to a richer one. if you have a shithole accent it can be especially rough

Accent is only considered bad if it is from non germanic country. Italian, French, Scandinavian accents are all considered to be exotic and cool while slavic accents are considered to be low class, autistic and annoying

Nothing comes close to an American, British, or Australian accent - exotic could mean you have a very slight accent but you still most of the time sound like one of the three

Nothing comes close to an American, British, or Australian accent - exotic could mean you have a very slight accent but you still most of the time sound like one of the three
