FOr the last week I have been using "The Ordinary Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2% 30ml" However its not great for my skin as its too aggressive, and leaves a very glossy finish which looks weird.

Any suggestions on a stand alone vit c serum that's suitable for more sensitive skin and doesn't leave a super glossy finish, perhaps a water based one or something?

Thanks

make your own, it becomes dirt cheap.

Don’t make them on your own. The bioavailabile form of Vitamin C (L-Ascorbic acid) cannot be formulated on your own to be stable enough.

Try the Timeless CE Ferulic Acid 20%. It’s a near clone to the Skinceuticals CE Ferulic that has been clinically shown to improve collagen synthesis, skin tone, and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation - for less than half the price.

So I would just replace my current vit c with Timeless CE Ferulic Acid 20% and use it only in mornings? I’ve never heard of Ferulic Acid is it basically the same stuff?

Yes use it in the morning before your sunscreen. You need to use sunscreen with Vitamin C since it degrades in the presence of sunlight.

Timeless CE Ferulic is a serum that contains Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and Ferulic Acid. Ferulic Acid helps to stabilise the Vitamin C allowing it to be more effective during usage.

i want to use tanning drops with my moisturizer or something like jergens natural glow moisturizer. it that's why I was asking.
They should work fine with that SPF I commented.

I myself have used Isle of Paradise drops and they work really well, I use them the evening before and they last 3-5 days.

do you get cumulative effects from regular use or just like instant tan?

You can get a bit of a cumulative effect the more you use the stronger it is and if you apply when some is currently applied then the amount you use will be a bit stronger as it has a base.

However its not permanent it does come off after a few days to a week.

Elta MD’s Clear SPF 46 Tinted is a godsend for me.

If that’s too expensive then you could try Cerave AM SPF 30 moisturiser, it’s very basic (but I would recommend the EltaMD if you could go with that instead.)

Not much, but I don’t really give a shit about if sunscreens can affect my hormones (which they probably don’t). The processed foods you eat daily take a way bigger toll on your hormones than sunscreen could ever.

But if you’re concerned about hormones and sunscreen then use a mineral sunscreen with Zinc Oxide and/or Titanium Dioxide as UV filters. These filters in their non-micronized form have basically no capability to absorb into the bloodstream.

Nano particles in titanium dioxide versions are implicated in problems with the lungs

Zinc is more biologically natural and perhaps will present less of a problem

Make your own Vitamin C serum with water

You can buy from the same place that sells Derminator 2 (best microneedling device)

How do u get the self tan drops even on the face?

Do you mix it in a cup with the lotion so it gets evenly distributed or is that unnecessary

how can u know its not cope? Can u just eat vitamin c rich products and forget about it?

Some of y’all really need to learn how to use the word cope :feelswhy:

L-Ascorbic Acid is an antioxidant which means it is able to donate an electron to a free radical and neutralize it. If not formulated correctly, free radicals will oxidize L-Ascorbic Acid and destabilize it rather quickly, rendering it useless when you actually apply it and go out.

You could prolly try eating a fuck ton of Vitamin C, but it probably wouldn’t have the same effect on the skin.

Go with skinceuticals ce ferulic man, consistently shown to be the most effective, but it will run u around 80 usd a month
