i wont lie, i paid for the premium JewGPT or whatever it is and the o1 is quite remarkable, although it still fails at maths mostly, and always at physics. i think its good to give you some good questions to give a go at and also explaining the physics/intuition behind it, but actually solving it, it severely struggles. we make AIs here at the uni sometimes and theyre incredibly prone to error

looks like one of them competition questions lol, there is usually an incredibly long way or even impossible way (the intuitive way) then the sneaky trick no one thinks of which is how the creators get the answer in their mark schemes.

from what i remember of these weird questions, you should always try form them into nicer shapes if possible. its one of the many ways how you can prove Pythagorean theorem.

for this, you can kinda "unfold" the three triangles around A such that the pentagon would occupy a multiple of another pentagon so to speak. obviously typical pentagons have 7 degrees of freedom but since we have 6 distinct, restricting equations we only get 1 at the end of the constrictions so the pentagon can "wiggle" (i really cant describe it any better) in one way. becayse of that 1 DOF the shape is "locked" in a sense and theres only 1 area regardless of that one angle change. your condition of ∠AED=2∠ABC would essentially tie those hinges together in a neat ratio too. these questions are generally tough to crack at first, but you can eventually get the shape just perfect and then you smile knowing you made a question you either have NEI to complete or would be a horrendous trigonometric or cross product simultaneous equation which you just wont solve via hand, youd need something like WA to approximate it.

if you want me to draw it properly and find the answer i can give it a go for ya, but it seems like from first glance itll be half a pentagon so 80*25=2000 and thus the area would be 1000cm^2. if its another multiple then i just didnt draw it in my head correctly lol, but that is the general idea and works for every one of these questions.

(youd also need to prove that the total area remains constant lol, but i take it this is just for fun and not for a uni submission or something haha. it is not too bad to prove, you essentially just need to prove that the derivative in terms of theta of the area = 0 so the pentagon is independent of that left over angle/DOF)

lol, depends on what level of maths you do. i am an engineering student so i can only recommend engineering mathematic books, if you do a typical maths degree, i dont know enough on group, set, and that RUBBISH to be able to tell you a good book on it.

good ones in general i know/have used are as follows, "Understanding Analysis" by Stephen Abbott, its a good intro to real ana, "How to prove it" by Velleman is cool too. i mean, i know so many it just depends what topics youre looking for. these are more intro steps to the degree. do you like stats? calculus? analysis? logic? geometry? topology? DEs? applied?

for stats, give "Introduction to Probability" by Bertsekas a read and "Probability and Measure" by Patrick Billingsley depending on how advanced you are

for calc, read "Calculus" by Spivak and the same name by Stewart. Stewart's is more applied than the former

for analysis, read "Principles of Mathematical Analysis" by Rudin

for topology, i found "Counterexamples in Topology" by Steen and Seebach to be the most intuitive book on it, so give that a read

for geometry, "Riemannian Geometry" by Carmo is good, or "A Comprehensive Introduction to Differential Geometry" by Spivak if youre advanced

for DEs, give "Nonlinear Dynamics and Chaos" by Steven Strogatz and "Partial Differential Equations" by Evans a read

for applied maths, i liked "Mathematical Methods for Physics and Engineering" by Bence and the classics, "Mathematics for Physicists" by Boas and "Methods of Mathematical Physics" by Hilbert

for logic, im not too knowledgeable on it, but ive saw people reading "Godel, Escher, Bach: An Eternal Golden Braid" by Douglas Hofstadter, seems to be more conceptual but people looked fascinated reading it in the library

You don't need to be particularly high IQ or all that smart even to be good at math. I was a former math major who has taken several proof based courses and performed relatively well. It wasn't meant to be a brag. And it is a soul crushing and lonely major.
