IQ or being smart is 80% genes. A 100 IQ person could study 80 hours a week on various philosophers math reading ect and not be as insightful as I am dicking around.

Studying only works if your somewhat smart to begin with too. Looks are positively correlated by IQ believe it or not the average attractive man is 107 IQ which is 7 IQ points higher then the average. Having good facial features is a sign of good genetic health meaning the child is more likely to be higher IQ.
But my theory for the twiiter data is related to immigrants having kids.

IQ is an advantage until 120 IQ. I made a thread called IQ and the law of diminishing returns that goes over this. 120 is as much as any normal human needs to be materially successful.

I think it works on a diminishing returns scale I would still rather be 135 then 100 any day but I do sometimes wish I was a bit dumber. A big reason a lot of smart people are fucked is because high IQ correlates with autism or weird brain wiring a lot. You'll notice there's a huge difference between a smart person with normal brain wiring and a smart autist. There is a lot more problems when you an autist smart person.

After 120 IQ I think the rates of ADHD and Autism are like triple the triple normal rates so a lot of the genes that cause these weird brain wiring so happen to also cause high IQ sadly.

You can look it up but the average self made millionaire and multi millionaire is 118 IQ. So someone with 1-20 million has 118 IQ on average. It depends what you want to do but my point is a hard working NT 115 IQ person could easily become a millionaire with the right circumstances in life.

If you only want to be materially successful 110-125 is all you need.

If you are above 120 I would say IQ no longer matters or no longer matters as much.

I know multiple people with tested IQ above 130 its not uncommon especially in math departments but I have never met a billionaire. IQ is clearly not the biggest piece to the puzzle here it matters a lot at the lower ends but matters less beyond that. If IQ was the only thing needed to become rich or it was the biggest factor every billionaire would be 160 IQ.

So I guess in conclusion depends what you want out of life if your 120 IQ and you had a fairly good upbringing if you wanted you could study hard the next year get into an Ivy League school and work in investment banking work 80 hours a week and in 10 years maybe you would be making 500K a year or more and you could have 50 million. If money is all you wanted before retirement.

I think smarter people also tend to realize money is an abstract concept created by governments and so they use their IQ to do meaningful things or work the bare minimum instead of working hard. Working hard is really the easiest way to become rich you don't need nearly as many IQ points as you think to make it materially. A hard working NT guy with 115 IQ will beat any 140 IQ autist materially if he wants.

Having above 130s is only good if your going into PHD level STEM like Mathematics. You can still get away with engineering or math in undergrad but going to a good Grad school in Math is a scenario where you might need more IQ points so just be realistic I guess... If you want to be super rich learn a skill and then get good at managing people. You can be a millionaire managing roofers if you can do this which is a very basic skill. So like all complex things its nuanced do you need some level of IQ to be successful of course you do but is it everything? No of course not... You can be perfectly happy even at 100 IQ thats really all that matters out of life imo. And success wise you need above 110 which is the average IQ of a state college undergrad.

Thanks for the life fuel. It's not over for me. It just begun. Just need to avoid the really rigoruous fields like Quant/Mathematician. I'm studying C.S and am clinging onto the hope that at some point I can create some kind of start-up that does well and lets me escape wage cuckery. Realistically, I'll probably be programming for a company for the rest of my life though. We will see.
