> 500 g of sugar, tons of fiber and electrolytes. These Saudi dates I recently ordered were extremely good. Ridiculously sweet yet I got zero nausea or discomfort after chowing down two entire boxes. Quite cheap too. Mogs glucose sirup coated, rock solid and overpriced Algerian Deglet Noor dates you can find at any store to oblivion

Self-destructive binge eating or youve accounted for this in your calorie tracking?

That’s nearly 3k in calories if 100g has 280 calories (google info)

I do OMAD and didn't eat anything yesterday, but I'm going to fast until tomorrow evening. I usually keep my calorie intake below 1,400 per day, but these dates were just so delicious. Gotta enjoy life sometimes, right? It's not that a one time surplus of 1,300 kcal would set me back to any significant degree, especially if I'm in a deficit most of the time. Just don't make it a habit

your brain is enjoying while your teeth are crying, rudiiii help meeeee

considered your sugar theory, but it's complete bs sorry
if i start my day with sugar i fight with sleeping in the 10 AM meeting, but when i eat haferflocken i got power all day
which is according to science.

maybe you are superhuman?

It's not just about the carbohydrate structure of a given food but about the whole plate and how it affects your nutrient sensing, satiety/satisfaction, blood glucose and insulin levels. The insulin index of boiled potatoes for instance is 121, despite being mostly starch. Dates, which primarily consist of simple sugars, have an II of only 64. But then again, the complete package matters, as other components like water, fiber, enzymes, polyphenols and also taste and texture all affect both short and long term satiety.

What exactly does "starting your day with sugar" look like? A tablespoon of pure glucose? Donuts? Oreos? Or is it a plate of fruit, sprinkled with table sugar or honey on top? A 500 g box of dates keeps me satisfied for at least 20 hours. Potatoes fill me up but don't keep me full for long. Same with most starches and grains like oats. However, I also consume a ton of vegetables and legumes and only eat once a day

i read insulin index of potatoes is also not the whole story and because of this diabetes people can eat potatoes.

"starting day with sugar" i mean kelloggs.

there may be something to your story, if i start my day with a banana i can go gym und workout a full hour without being hungry.
but if i start with haferflocken + banana i have the best energy

and still, sugar is pure diabetesfuel, no point in denying it
especially refined sugars in processed food

when i have too much sugar i feel rather sick than full
haferflocken helped me to stop binge eating

but i admit there may be parts missing in my equation as well - dietry fiber, ...

Cornflakes are starchy, dumbass. There are simple sugars in it but also a bunch of starch and fat and they're often fortified with vitamins and minerals; excess folic acid and B12 in particular can mess up appetite control and make you even hungrier. Cornflakes are also dehydrated and fool the stretch receptors in your stomach, because you have to eat way more than you need calorie-wise to get full. It's one of the least satiating foods.

Don't ever criticize my hypothesis again when you're doing literally the exact opposite of what I said, that is REPLACE starch with simple sugars (not eat garbage foods loaded with starch, sugar and fat that were designed to make you extremely hungry so you keep buying more)

Starch is a polySACCHARIDE, refined sugar/sucrose is a diSACCHARIDE, bananas consist of glucose, fructose, sucrose and starch (mono-, di- and polysaccharides), oatmeal is mostly starch. What you fail to realize is that 'saccharide' (from Greek: 'sákkharon') literally means 'sugar'. Whether you eat a banana, oatmeal, potatoes or refined sugar, it's all fucking SUGAR. Different types of sugar but sugar nonetheless. If you think sugar is inherently bad and causes diabetes, you might as well avoid bananas and oatmeal altogether and follow sv3rige's diet advice
