I can not seem to enjoy video games

Turn the console on, start a game, play for 10 minutes and then get so bored I am forced to leave.

Anyone else feel this way? Maybe it is because I am still playing PS3 but I dont have any motivation to buy the new one because I just dont enjoy gaming

i played games too but then i was like you.. started the game after 10min leaved
Depression causes that you cant enjoy all the things that you enjoyed before

its not just playing games.. in every aspect of life, you cant anything (maybe in your case its a lil bit different and you can enjoy something) but people who suffer from depression, they cant enjoy anything (for me, even masturbating is difficult, i cant enjoy it)

Too much information available, too many choices, besides video games there are also tons of tv stations, websites, social media, youtube clips, etc. - we live in an era of information overload and it's very difficult to focus on just one thing now because we get bored fast, many people have this compulsive behavior: they play a game for a few minutes, then go check a news site, watch some youtube clips, check their social media, go back to the game, play a little more, then check their phone for messages, post something online, etc., they can't focus on something more than a few minutes...
Now, back in the old days, there weren't so many distractions, when you played a game, you played it for hours, because there was nothing else to interrupt you, you need to limit your internet and smartphone usage, do a dopamine and information detox.
