This story is super long, so this is the short version. A lot of things happened in between events.
About two months ago, my best friend and I joined acting classes because weβre antisocial as fuck at school and wanted to socialize, mainly to meet girls. I honestly regret it now.
There were around five girls in the class. One of them stood out immediately. She looked like Jenna Ortega, not exactly, but close enough, and I really liked her. My friend liked her too, so we flipped a coin to decide who would pursue her. I won.
From the start, she clearly wasnβt into me. I wasnβt flirting or acting weird. I was just talking normally, asking normal questions, the same way I talked to her friends. The fucked-up part was that her friends were way more interested in talking to me than she was.
A couple of weeks later, two new guys joined the class. Iβm 16, and they were about three years older. I made it clear to them that I liked this girl so there wouldnβt be any bullshit. One of them even had a girlfriend and said he wasnβt interested and would help me.
Our lessons were only on weekends, and after one of them, almost everyone from the class went out to eat. I tried talking to her again, but she still showed zero interest, so I backed off. My best friend thought I was just being negative. Right after that, the guy with the girlfriend started talking to her, and the difference was obvious. She was the one asking him questions. She actually wanted to talk to him. That was brutal, and it also felt really weird that he was talking to her knowing I liked her instead of just playing nonchalant and staying out of it.
Later that night, the girl I liked suggested we go to a bar, and everybody agreed. My best friend and the two other guys planned it so Iβd be left alone with her. They told me to have a drink to lower my inhibitions. I got drunk pretty fast since Iβd never really drunk before. I felt confident, talked a lot, asked questions, and thought I came off well. I walked her part of the way home because they told me to, but I didnβt make it weird. Even then, it felt like she didnβt really want to be there with me.
The next weekend during class, I was about to be put into a group with her for an exercise. The same guy with the girlfriend suddenly pulled me into his group instead. I couldnβt say anything without making it awkward, but I was pissed.
I decided there was no point dragging it out. I had known her for about a month and a half by then, so I just asked her out. I asked her to go ice skating. She avoided giving a straight answer, saying she didnβt know when she was free. I pushed once. She said she wasnβt free Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. I suggested Monday, but she never replied.
About a week later, I found out she asked the guy with the girlfriend to take her to a bar, basically a date. She didnβt know he had a girlfriend. He agreed, even though he knew I liked her. He was calling me his βbest friendβ even though Iβd known him for only a few weeks. To be honest, I didnβt like the guy at all. He was super weird, fake as fuck, constantly lying, and just overall off.
Then he called me and told me how he kissed her and shit, like it was completely normal. I cut him off completely, not only because of what he did with the girl I liked, which I thought was a really weird move, but also because I already didnβt like him at all even before that.
This was my first really brutal real-life experience when it came to girls, but I donβt even think it was about looks, maybe Iβm just coping. I donβt think that guy was better looking than me in terms of his face, and as for height, Iβm 5β10β and heβs 6β0β, so honestly, I donβt know.
