I can't connect with people IRL or online

I can always never build any real connections. It always feels very surface level. I don't have a single person who I've ever ACTUALLY felt a strong enough connection to IRL to talk about feelings. Even online I they almost always last 1-2 months. I talk to someone a lot for maybe a few weeks or months and then it just falls apart at some point. I've never had a best friend because I know other people have friends they're way closer to. Sometimes people online try to talk to me but it just feels so artificial. Why is connecting so hard
