Nope actually contrary to popular belief, it's not the first sperm who just gets there and wins. It's actually a mix of things. Multiple sperm break down the cell wall outside of the egg (cock carousel), and the egg releases "chemoattractants" to bring the most genetically worthy sperm for that egg closer first.

Don't fall for the meme, girls would approach in the rarest of circumstances. They'd probably make it obvious they like you in a social circle though, but they'd never outright ask you out, that's rare. (Only exception being giga whore societies like the US probably)
