No Mandarin. Even if you knew a little you wouldn't want to use it for these types of jobs. A lot of times it's just dressing nice and sitting around looking important. Say a company's hosting a meeting with another company. That company might hire foreigners to sit around some part of their office, usually at a computer, where they can be seen by members of the visiting company as they're on their way to meeting room. It's just for face. Only really good companies can be able to hire foreigners.
