I plan to enlist into the Air Force hopefully as an Officer. I'll be talking to a recruiter in a few months ideally. You can enlist as an Officer if you have a pre-existing education, which is nice as an option.

Assuming you're referring to the US Air Force, then I personally recommend it compared to the other branches. Chances of being deployed for combat roles are significantly low compared to the other branches of course and they prioritize families more.

If I can't join the Chair Force then I might try Army but I don't know if I want to fight any battles on behalf of Israel ngl.

Oh interesting. Good luck then.

I don't know much about mainland Australia, almost everything I know about Australia is actually about Tasmania, which is nothing like the rest of the country to my understanding.

I'm not sure but maybe healthcare. I'd have to see how my test goes to see whats open to me. I don't have perfect vision so I can't be a pilot (thankfully).

In America we don't serve kings. The military is meant to enforce the Constitution and "protect" the country (Whatever that means) but I can technically discharge myself if I felt like the military was being used for something I didn't want to participate in. Normally it's the Coast Guard who gets deployed on civilians, which I don't have any interest in joining.

health care is always going to be valuable

The american military still serves the interest of billionaires and corrupted politicians more than the people, just look at all the countries they fucked over (middle eastern and communist countries)

and the fact that the cia literally ran experiments on its own people (mk ultra), sold crack to its own people to fund rebel groups to fight against commies and many more fucked shit that would take too long to explain.

I know australia isn't perfect, but it's not as bad as america. Do a lot of research before you join, you don't want to be getting yourself into something that goes against your morals.

You actually don't need to explain all of that to me, I'm aware of all of it.

Joining the military technically does goes against my morals; But it has to do with providing for my family. I'm actually anti-military as a concept and I think we shouldn't fund it so much, but we do. I'm also for pulling back government intervention as a whole.

In America, the system is broken as a whole. So for me to deny it outright would require me to depend on the other systems put in place for assistance, and unfortunately I can't.

Joining the military provides for my wife and our future kids, whether or not I'm alive. If my father had died as early as he did and wasn't a veteran, I don't actually know what would've happened to my family. I've seen how it provided for my grandmother into retirement because of her husband and so on.

So the main goal would be to work an office job or a job that helps people, get the benefits and not renew my contract.

It's unfortunately the main opportunity for poor people like me. I'm never escaping the system and I'm not blinded by optimism to think there's a better life out there for me if "I worked hard enough".

how long do you serve to work to get lifelong benifits?

the fact that they go to low income high schools to scout is also brutal

they offer benefits that should be the bare minimum for everyone

and people are going further right, despite the majority suffering from billionaire exploitation. :hnghn::hnghn::hnghn:

Not rude at all.

One of the amazing pitches for the military is free healthcare, but it no longer becomes free after you retire. It's fucked ngl. Imagine giving up years of your life to a system that can literally send you to slaughter and you STILL don't get free healthcare forever afterwards. Can't even pretend to be patriotic. :feelswhy:

It's very weird how the political climate is in America. I don't know if I actually understand why people are so right wing here (as in being against the government using the taxpayers money for overall well-being benefits instead of pouring it all into the military? lol), especially counting the corruption Trump displays is like comical. No point on debating people about it either.

I think it depends on the benefits but in most cases people get their full benefits on four year contracts. You can probably get a shorter contract but the government doesn't want to do that lmao. They're going to make you work for it.

its funny how all the maga guys started to despise trump after he got elected (@Gargantuan you betted on him twice :hnghn:) ,now his remaining supporters are the stereotypical trailer park bums who drink beer all day (@Starborn no offence)

The elites are trying to divide the working class a lot and it's honestly sad to see, kids are either going full nazis, or full commies. people don't really have much common beliefs.

The billionaires successfully made this system difficult to revolut, we deserve to suffer, were all stupid as fuck.

Or maybe im a schizophrenic ranting about the wrong things :hnghn:

this is why you be seeing a lot of far right and far left content pushed to the masses on social media, they want division, they are scared of unity.

No you're correct. Making an enemy is quite literally propaganda 101, and they made an enemy out of your neighbors. It's genuinely horrific on how effective and efficient it was.

American politics has beaten the shit out of my optimism for the future ngl. Makes me suicidal and blackpilled thinking about it.

My wife is a sweetheart. Thinks we're still going to be able to afford a house in the future even if I don't enlist. The look on my face when she told me that hurt her feelings lmao but I'm glad she has some hope for the future, because I don't.

It's actually crazy how passive the average American is, but I get it. I'm playing in the exact same system as everyone else and I've told myself I'm not going to be the change so why try. I guess it's what the elites wanted. Be too tired to try.

I just don't get the point of doing all of this to us. :feelsbadman: I guess it somehow helps their bottom lines.

Women tend to be more optimistic, my mom thinks working hard is all you need to succeed, if only she knew what it's like being young nowadays

I just don't get the point of doing all of this to us. :feelsbadman: I guess it somehow helps their bottom lines.
me 2 bro, the problem I have with this system isn't purely because i wasn't born rich, but because it would affect the human species from evolving further.

if you think about it, the amount of genetically blessed people who have little to no children is going down, and will only get worse over time.

prioritising human wellbeing = our species evolving more
