Not modern not old but the Era between, It came quick but it delivered quality

Konosuba, Rezero, Mushoku tensei, also mob psycho all came out around the same time, Mushoku is a bit later though, but not the lite novel that's the og og of Isekai

Yeah, I like subtle romance in a non-romance anime. It's cool if it develops slowly, isn't the main focus, and the MC isn't a total derp about it.

In full-on romance anime, I think it's fine if the MC comes off as timid and passive.

It's perfect, but because it's perfect, it's kind of boring in a sense that nothing unexpected really ever happens

It's just a solid story with top tier animation

It kinda follows that cliched formula '"tsundere stacy main girl abusing the spineless mc but ends up liking him back due to him being HIM ultra-competent better-than-everybody else at whatever the main activity in the anime is about" Evangelion-style but they're doing it in a much milder way

like the girl isnt as abusive and she ends up liking him pretty quickly into the story (like Nagatoro in the manga), so basically it ends up boiling down into a highschool romcom
