They're machines, not real people and the rich will be the first to afford them, put them at work and fire all the real people who they have to pay. By the time robots will become cheap enough to be affordable to everybody, they will most likely be used by the average person to do house chores, shopping, etc., they won't send them in their place to work for a company since the big companies will already have legions of robots at their disposal.
