When I chewed on my right side, the left side of my jaw would clack which is a sign of TMD. TMD occurs because of strength imbalance in the masseters. By chewing 15 pieces falim, my TMD is completely gone even when chewing. This is why treating the causes is so much more important than treating the symptoms. Yes, chewing soft foods would stop my TMD from happening, but would it truly go away? No. Sure I could use pain killers, but the TMD would still stay.

I also noticed a slight change in my bite as well from chewing. I snapped the wire of my brace so I can not wear rubber bands which is exactly what I want, so I can tell my orthodontist it broke overtime and I could not wear them.

Expand on this please. Just chew 15 pieces at the same time and thats it?

Have the same symptoms and need help

Really interesting actually. When I chewed on my right side, my left jaw would clack which means that the right masseter muscles are pulling on the left side of the jaw. So what I did was I chewed more on my left and the issue was solved. Literally that simple.

I also recommend chewing with progressive overload. This is how I did it.

1 piece
5 pieces
10 pieces
15 pieces

25 pieces should be the max

this is precisely what I have done OP, only difference is years ago I used to clench at night only on my right jaw, then I started chewing like a maniac and somehow my masseter on my right got even stronger than my left now I have TMJ (dentist confirmed my right masseter was much stronger)

Chewing remodels the skull, and I am planning to utilize to fix my bite while tricking my orthodontist to thinking it was because of the rubber bands.

If u chew with a recessed lower third ur gonna look like a bloated chipmunk

you will look like a bloated chipmunk regardless of forward growth or not if you overdo it, stop chewing all this gum and follow correct chewing and swallowing techniques with hard foods, also remember to stay lean

How tf do you go higher than 5 also higher than five you activate your cheek muscles around your nipple and you will look more bloated

I'm happy this worked for you OP but it's quite unusual that chewing fixed your issues; people with TMJ dysfunction usually have an imbalance that makes chewing exacerbate their symptoms. When the jaw condyles are asymmetrical, one side will take disproportionate stress which over time causes more imbalance.

IMO, the best way to strengthen your masseters if you have tmj issues is to push your bottom front teeth into the top front teeth. Since clenching your molars long term can cause teeth shortening, and chewing with a large range of motion sets you up to worsen your problems unless you do it perfectly.
