I never remember names of people I interact with IRL, but somehow they do remember mine.

Get into this awkward position where ppl greet me by my name while I don't know theirs. Or they start talking about someone I am supposed to know, but I have no idea who they are talking about.

Happens way too fucking often tbh. Takes like 5-10 interactions with someone for me to remember their name. I do remember faces more easily.

JFL. I usually do the same as you. Make some random guess about who they could be talking about.

I often do the same with streets. I've lived in this city for 3 years but still barely know the 'big streets' and 'location markers' you are supposed to know after a while living here. So when someone explains where they live, or where they work or are going. I just randomly nod and agree like I have a clue where these streets, shops, etc. are that they are talking about.

'Yeah you know Albertus-street right, you go left at the big roundabout past the grocery store, then...' and im like yeah ofcourse i know it, yeah right, oke oke.
