Barely anyone lives nearby The nearest ration shop is about 5 kilometers away, and the closest supermarket nearly 15. For anything beyond the basics, you'll need to head into the city. I'm tucked deep in the interior regions of southern India after a 20-25 km drive to the right the houses fade away and the thick jungle quietly begins. Trees everywhere and I spot a new variety of bird every day
There's still comfort here. The roads are well built somehow and they well lit with streetlights, 24/7 electricity, a steady water supply, and I'm living in a spacious old colonial home with old furniture and some maids to do my work but this house gives me the ick. By 6 pm the world grows still. An almost eerie calm settling over everything peaceful and undisturbed.
