I declined my orthodontist offer for elastics

he wanted to put elastics on my maxillary canines to the lower so it aligns to the midline
i declined and i explained that it will remodel to an unforavable position where it will increase facial height
i told him to keep expanding my upper arch and protract me front incisors and intrude the front molars which i had great sucess it fixed my deep bite by 40% we saw it on xray and pictures
only one side of the maxilla doesnt bite perfectly the lower arch cuz of the RPE expanion
what can i suggest him to get the lower arch wider? without causing troubble

whats your your thoughts on this did i do it right?
