Depends who you go with, my brothers Orthodontist was a maniac, gave my brother straighter teeth whilst making his jaw and cheeks recessed. Then 2 years later his teeth fucked up because he stopped putting in his retainers and the Orthodontist ignored his calls for new ones lmao, now he has shit teeth AND is recessed.

EDIT: I got them at 17 so the risk of developmental influence was nonexistent. I'd be careful using them with really young kids ofc, although I have to say they would have made my face more symmetrical. it developed wrong because of crossbite

are there any statistics when the mandible and maxilla are done growing? i can imagine over 80% is completed with like 13 but that still leave mm or even cm of forward growth
