I didn't smoke today

And the only reason that is is because there's a glimmer of hope that the girl I'm talking to might be actually interested in me. (Crazy how little you need sometimes to be happy). But the probability that I will get dumped is pretty high so I will likely start smoking again, although I really pray and hope that someone will finally find me worthy and be interested in me. That will stop my excessive drinking and smoking.

I get dumped not because of my looks but because I am awkward, shy and blush sometimes when out with girls.

And I basically see it as pointless to abstain from alcohol and cigarettes if I'm going to spend the rest of my life in loneliness. Like what does it matter what I look like if I'm all by myself?

I don't understand. If I was getting rejected 50% of the time and I got uglier, that would definitely hurt my success rate, but if I'm losing every time how can it get worse?
