It's a strange phenomena because at the same time they are one of the few people that actually forced their goverment to do damage control in favour of the Palestinians, by making them cutting or at least lowering trade with Israel and all of that. They did huge demonstrations and criticized a lot Erdogan for not helping them enough and so on.

I remember at the beggining of the war (And even before the turkish elections) even the Ataturk shills were in favour of Palestinie and they were raising Palestinian flags and so on (Probably just to mess up Erdogan more, but still it's something)

It's one of those cases of cognitive dissonance. Every country and people's have them. It just turks are bold and express whatever is on their minds. And also we generalize a lot because i have seen tons of videos of turks helping refugees and so on.
