i do get kinda sad during my mid-shift break.

realizing my coworkers work here to afford random distractions or to offer something for their partners.
they treat this mcdonald's like family because it's their one and only life.

while i'm just here because i need surgery money,
hopefully forgetting all of them after my paycheck.
