I used to drink almost daily but all my alcohol cravings completely disappeared around late summer 2020, when I experimented with a high sugar very low fat diet and they haven't returned since. Also my taste buds seem to have changed permanently. I used to primarily crave greasy, salty/savory food (which in turn would always make me crave alcohol/beer) but I don't find it as appealing anymore. I prefer sweet things now and only rarely desire a pizza or other greasy fast food. I eat a lot less meat. Drowning my taste buds in sugar and restricting fat temporarily seems to have flicked a switch in my brain permanently. I still have a drink sometimes (that's right, usually only one) but it has become a rarity and it's more of a conscious choice now as opposed to a strong physical impulse/craving like before. I almost have to force myself to drink now because the urge just isn't there anymore.
